Start with your FBA shipment plan

Bring supplier orders together before international shipping
If you buy from several factories or marketplaces, a China warehouse can provide a common receiving point. First reconcile each supplier’s delivery against your order. Then decide which products can be packed together and which must remain separate for their assigned destination.

A pre-dispatch checklist for US FBA inventory
- Match products to the order. Confirm SKU, model, color, size and quantity. Record shortages or visible damage before goods are repacked.
- Agree on inspection scope. Decide whether you need a basic receiving check or a more detailed product inspection. Share specific concerns, such as stitching, surface marks or accessory counts. See our inspection options and fees.
- Confirm preparation and labeling. Supply the current product and carton label files, with clear SKU-to-label instructions. Ask us to confirm the requested work and its price before preparation starts.
- Finalize carton records. Record the contents, quantity, gross weight and outside dimensions of each finished carton. Update the shipment information if consolidation changes the packing configuration.
- Check destination and handover arrangements. Confirm the receiving address, transport method, customs-clearance responsibilities and final-delivery requirements before booking.

Air freight or sea freight from China to US FBA?
Air freight for urgent replenishment
Air freight can be worth comparing when a small batch is needed urgently or a stockout would interrupt sales. Give the quotation team both actual weight and carton dimensions: a light but bulky shipment may have a higher chargeable weight than expected. Confirm product acceptance before planning around air transport.
Sea freight for planned inventory
Sea freight is worth considering for larger replenishment batches when your inventory plan allows more time. Compare the full journey, including collection, departure arrangements, customs clearance and final delivery. The sailing portion alone does not describe when stock will become available for sale.
A split shipment when priorities differ
For example, a seller may request an air quote for urgent units and a sea quote for the balance. Keep separate packing lists and shipment instructions for each batch. Compare the extra handling cost with the benefit of receiving the urgent stock earlier.
What should a China-to-USA FBA quote include?
Send the product links or descriptions, supplier collection locations, unit quantities, carton count, dimensions, gross weight, cargo-ready date and assigned US destination. Mention batteries, liquids, magnets, fragile items or other special handling needs at the start.
Ask for the scope of each charge: China domestic transport, receiving and preparation, international freight, customs-related services and final delivery. Confirm who handles import clearance and which taxes, duties or destination charges are included or excluded.

Common questions from FBA sellers
Can several suppliers’ goods be consolidated?
Share each supplier’s order and delivery details first. Consolidation can be planned after confirming the goods, packing needs and destinations. Products assigned to different fulfillment locations need separate instructions.
Can I get an exact delivery date before supplying carton details?
A useful estimate needs the cargo details, ready date and destination. Ask which stages the estimate includes. Delivery to a fulfillment center and Amazon’s receiving or inventory-availability process are separate stages.
Does inspection guarantee FBA acceptance?
Inspection checks the agreed product details. Sellers still need to confirm product eligibility and current shipment requirements. Any preparation or label work should follow the approved instructions for that shipment.
